Lee Purdy went head to head with IBF welterweight champion Devon Alexander ahead of Saturdays world title challenge at the Boardwalk Hallin Atlantic City.
Purdy, 25, has stepped in at late notice to challenge Alexander for the IBF title after Sheffield’s Kell Brook pulled out. Purdy will be up against it but the Colchester man is confident he can cause an upset and bring the belt back to the UK.
“I’m going to put my heart and soul into this fight and come out victorious.” said Purdy.
“I’m in great shape and I’m ready to put a big statement out there.”
“I punch hard and it’s going to make for an exciting fight. When it gets close to me of course he’s going to hold, but I’m not going to stop punching him until he lets go.”
