Frank Duffin Promotions and Maree Boxing announced on Thursday that Manchester’s Michael Gomez Jr (17-1-0) and Liverpool’s Brian Phillips (11-2-0) will contend for the super-featherweight Central Area title in Oldham on July 23rd.
The bout adds another dose of intrigue to an already exciting card in Oldham, which will see the rematch between Salford’s Jade Taylor (5-0-0) and Bolton’s Linzi Buczynskyj (2-1-0), with the 130lb Central Area title also on the line though this time in the female code. Taylor was adjudged a close victor in April by a score of 96-95 on referee Darren Sarginson’s card and the pair look to run it back again to see who comes out on top.
A whole host of prospects are also set to feature in Oldham, including the return of Wycombe King (3-1-0) at light-heavyweight after his first pro defeat last time out, as well as Ibrahim Nadim (7-0-0) at featherweight, Billy Deniz (5-0-0) at cruiserweight and Ricky Gorman making his professional debut at heavyweight.
