Matchroom Boxing and DAZN have officially announced that Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn will put the family name on the line again when they face-off in an historic domestic showdown on October 8th. London’s O2 Arena will host and the fight will be available to watch live on DAZN pay-per-view.

Reports began to circulate in recent weeks that the pair were in talks for a mega clash at a 156lb catchweight, but as time passed with no official announcements, talks looked to have broken down and questions began to rise as to whether the bout would take place after all. The rumoured sticking point was the rehydration clause, with both men having to make sacrifices in order to meet the agreed catchweight and therefore not wanting to give too much away in terms of weight advantages on fight day.

Nevertheless, late on Tuesday evening, all relevant parties confirmed that contracts had been signed and that a deal has been reached in what will be one of the biggest domestic clashes in terms of cross-over appeal. The pair’s fathers Chris Eubank and Nigel Benn came together to form one of the most iconic rivalries in British boxing history, twice going head-to-head during the nineties to take over the domestic boxing scene. Eubank took the first fight, stopping his great adversary inside nine rounds in Birmingham in 1990, before the pair fought to a split-decision draw three years later at Old Trafford.

A price-point for DAZN PPV in the UK has not been confirmed at the time of writing.
