Ben Shalom‘s BOXXER announced on Thursday that they have emerged victorious in purse bids to promote newly-crowned British super-lightweight champion Dalton Smith in his first defence against Birmingham’s Kaisee Benjamin.
Smith picked up the Lord Lonsdale belt in August with an emphatic sixth-round stoppage of Sam O’Maison in a lively Sheffield derby, a bout which marked his first major title as a professional as he continues to develop as one of the country’s brightest upcoming stars. Benjamin meanwhile enjoyed a dominant six-round points victory in Coventry three-and-a-half months ago as he looks to add the British strap to the Midlands Area title he picked up in December 2020.
The contest will ‘take place on a date and at a venue to be advised’, in the words of the British Boxing Board of Control.
