Kalle Sauerland of Wasserman Boxing confirmed on Saturday night that British super-welterweight champion Troy Williamson will defend his Lord Lonsdale belt versus Josh Kelly in Newcastle this December in a huge North-East of England affair.
It was announced that terms have been agreed between the two respective camps earlier this week and, following Williamson’s successful sixth-round stoppage victory over David Benitez in Bolton tonight, Sauerland confirmed that the two will go head-to-head in Newcastle just before Christmas.
The exact date and venue of the contest has not yet been confirmed and is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
