The Magna Centre in Rotherham will host a Central Area title clash at welterweight on Saturday evening as Wakefield’s undefeated Dom Hunt (10-0-0, 1KO) and Bradford’s Darren Tetley (21-3-0, 9KOs) come together over twelve rounds.
Hunt, who enters the ring as champion and will be looking to secure his eleventh victory in as many outings on Saturday, faces his toughest test yet against the more experienced Tetley who fought in front of 94,000 at Wembley Stadium five months ago to challenge for Ekow Essuman‘s British strap. The twenty-nine-year-old emerged defeated that night but will no doubt be stirred up to secure the first major title of his career this weekend.
A host of prospects are also set to appear on the undercard, including undefeated bantamweight Kyle Yousaf (16-0-0, 7KOs) as he takes on Alexander Taylor (20-34-2, 5KOs) in a six-round contest. Bree Burbeary (1-0-0, 1KO) makes her second appearance as a professional in a six-round clash against the experienced Ester Konecna (2-15-1), while cruiserweight Ricky Reeves (4-1-0, 2KOs) faces-off against debutant Ryan Labourn in the former’s first fight back since his defeat to Ellis Zorro in the final of the BOXXER Cruiserweight Series tournament earlier this year. Featherweight prospect Alex Taylor (1-0-0) also makes his second appearance versus John Spencer (0-18-0).
Two fighters are also set to make their professional debuts on the card, with the first being Mohammed Subhaan taking on Lee Connolly (8-78-6) in a four-round super-lightweight bout. Mohammed Latif will also make his first professional ringwalk against Luke Fash (3-82-3) at featherweight.
Stefy Bull promotes the event in Rotherham on Saturday night.
