Errol Johnson‘s Black Country Boxing Promotions return to Birmingham’s Eastside Rooms on Friday night for a Midlands Area title fight at 130lbs between Shaun Cooper (13-4-0) and Joe Underwood Hughes (7-1-0, 1KO).
Neither man has picked up a major title in their respective careers so far, though Cooper has been in with strong domestic opposition against the likes of Sam Noakes and Mark Chamberlain on big televised shows. Underwood Hughes meanwhile last appeared in the BOXXER Series tournament in Coventry at 140lbs where he suffered defeat in the first-round against Rylan Charlton.
A host of BCB prospects are also set to feature on the undercard in the Second City, including 140-pounder Tommy Collins (6-0-0, 1KO). The Birmingham man appears for a third time in 2022, and most recently blasted through respected journeyman Chris Adaway inside a round. Undefeated welterweight Connor Goodchild (3-0-0, 1KO) makes his fourth professional appearance off the back of a dominant performance over MJ Hall in June, while super-middleweight Troy Jones (3-0-0) runs out again in Birmingham.
Lightweight Mykey Lee Broughton (2-0-0) hopes to impress in his third outing in front of his home fans, while Jarrett Doherty (2-2-0) looks to return to secure consecutive victories at 168lbs.
