Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing announced on Wednesday that undisputed lightweight champion of the world Katie Taylor will take on Karen Carabajal of Argentina at Wembley Arena on October 29th, live on DAZN.

Taylor, who defended her lightweight titles against Amanda Serrano at Madison Square Garden in a fight of the year contender in April, will put it all on the line again against the undefeated thirty-two-year-old Carabajal. The latter has fought all nineteen of her professional contests to date in her home country of Argentina and has two knockouts to her name.

Taylor holds all the marbles at lightweight.

Taylor meanwhile will look to move through this challenge before hopefully landing a lucrative rematch with the aforementioned Serrano, who fights in Manchester this weekend for the undisputed featherweight championship, in 2023. Dublin has been the touted location in what would be a mega homecoming event for the now thirty-six-year-old Taylor who is surprisingly yet to fight in her home country of Ireland as a professional.

There is set to be plenty of Irish contingent on the undercard at Wembley Arena on the 29th as Caiomhin Agyarko clashes with fellow undefeated super-welterweight Peter Dobson over ten rounds. New Matchroom signing Gary Cully, who impressed last time out with a fifth-round knockout of former world champion Miguel Vasquez, is also set to appear at 135lbs. An opponent is yet to be confirmed at the time of writing.

Jordan Gill will also defend his European featherweight title versus former world champion Kiko Martinez. Gill produced a stunning comeback victory over Karim Guerfi in February in a contender for knockout of the year after finding himself concussed and suffering with an eye injury for a large portion of the bout before a huge right-hand left the Frenchman flat on his back.

Popular heavyweight prospect Johnny Fisher is also set to appear, as is light-heavyweight talent John Hedges and 154-pounder Jordan Reynolds. Opponents are still to be confirmed.
