The British Boxing Board of Control released their monthly championship circular on Thursday which included the latest mandatory requirements and final eliminators for their English titles.
English super-middleweight champion Zak Chelli‘s next opponent will be dictated in an upcoming eliminator clash between Callum Simpson and Ben Ridings on October 1st in Oldham. At 160lbs, Tyler Denny must make his first defence versus Brad Pauls, a bout for which a purse bid will be called on October 12th. Sam Gilley will defend his 154lb strap against Sean Robinson on a BOXXER card yet to be announced, while Joshua Ejakpovi and Kingsley Egbunike will clash in an eliminator for the same belt.
The vacant English welterweight title will be contested in a clash between Anthony Tomlinson and Danny Ball following Harry Scarff‘s recent vacating of the title. The fight will be called to purse bids on 12th October as Tomlinson looks to land his first major title, while Ball gears towards a second shot at domestic honours following his sole defeat to Ekow Essuman in October last year for the British.
Lucas Ballingall and Boy Jones Jr will collide for the vacant super-lightweight strap on 30th September at York Hall, while Khaleel Majid and Sajid Abid come together on 19th November in a final eliminator to face the winner. Hamed Ghaz and Reece Mould will fight for the vacant title at 135lbs on 8th October in Doncaster, and Conor Marsden will now face Martin McDonagh in an eliminator for the winner on 30th September following injury to Ben Smith. Super-featherweight English champion Liam Dillon will defend versus Levi Giles, while Michael Gomez Jnr and Brian Phillips will clash in a fiery Manchester vs Liverpool eliminator on 1st October.
Amin Jahanzeb and Reece Bellotti will fight for the vacant featherweight belt on 29th October, and Zahid Hussain will take on Razaq Najib for the vacant English super-bantamweight title.
