Eddie Hearn has taken to Twitter claiming BOXXER have now pulled Frazer Clarke out of today’s scheduled purse bid for a clash with British heavyweight champion Fabio Wardley.

The bid was set for this afternoon for one of the most highly-anticipated British title clashes since Anthony Joshua defeated Dillian Whyte in 2015.

Hearn’s tweet read: “Heard from the BBBofC that BOXXER has pulled Frazer Clarke out of the Fabio Wardley purse bid today. What a complete joke and a waste of our time. Robbing the fighters of opportunity and the fans of a brilliant fight. Shambles.”

Wardley claimed the vacant British belt with a second-round stoppage of Nathan Gorman in November.

The 28-year-old reacted to the news on social media claiming BOXXER were never eager for the fight to take place.

“Shambles of a promotion. You knew from the start you never wanted to risk your boy @BOXXER”.

Clarke has not yet provided a response to the news, though he did put out a now deleted tweet which read “deflated!!” on Tuesday evening.

The Tokyo 2020 Olympic bronze medalist is set to appear next on June 10th with rumours suggesting he will face Harry Armstrong.
