IBF cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia has signed a co-promotional deal with Matchroom Boxing.
The Australian will now be promoted by Eddie Hearn and Michael Francis of Tasman Fighters moving forward.
Opetaia raised eyebrows with a unanimous decision victory over former champion Mairis Briedis in Broadbeach, Australia twelve months ago.
The 28 year old suffered a fractured jaw in the process but looks to make the first defence of his title in the second half of 2023.
London’s Richard Riakporhe has been linked with a fight against Opetaia later in the year.
Bournemouth’s Chris Billam-Smith also recently claimed the WBO title at cruiserweight with a unanimous decision win over fellow countryman Lawrence Okolie.
