Welterweight returns after Liverpool disappointment
Former British champion Michael Jennings will make his comeback on March 12th in Glasgow on the undercard of Scot Ricky Burns’ WBO super-featherweight title defence against Ghanaian challenger Joseph Laryea.
The 33 year-old is looking to rebuild his career after suffering his third loss in 39 bouts against the talented Kell Brook at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on Frank Warrens 30th anniversary show and will take on Edinburgh’s Gary McMillan.
The Chorley fighter, who lost to Miguel Cotto in five rounds in 2009 when challenging for the WBO welterweight title, is hoping a victory over McMillan (11-2-1) will propel him to a challenge against John O’Donnell or Craig Watson, who fight for the title vacated by Brook on February 19th at Wembely Arena.

24 year-old southpaw McMillan is stepping up in class after a failed bid at the Scottish title in November 2009, losing a close ten-round decision to Gary Young. The Scot will see it as an opportunity to cause an upset and make a statement, but with just two knockouts on his record, make have to win the bout the hard way and take Jennings the full twelve rounds.
