George Groves was at the press conference to announce promoter Frank Warren‘ new tv deal with BoxNation, which was held at the o2 Arena in London.
Groves 23, talked exclusively to iFilm London’s Kugan Cassius about BoxNation and his up coming British and commonwealth middleweight title defence against Liverpool’s former Lonsdale belt holder Paul Smith on December 17.
The British champion also talks about a possible rematch with rival James DeGale, who he defeated in May to add the British title to his commonwealth strap.
Frank Warren also says he would like nothing more than to see a rematch between bitter rivals George Groves and James DeGale which would be a big platform on BoxNation their new dedicated boxing channel.
Speaking at the presser, Warren said: “What I have always done is put my fighters in with each other if they are at the same weight, because that is what the fans want. We don’t keep them apart, we build fights.”
Groves recently made a somewhat shock move to join Warren’s promotional stable from Hayemaker signing a three-year deal with Warren in the hope he can secure him a world title shot.
Londoner Groves, is unbeaten in 13 fights with 10 stoppages, is ranked in the top 15 with the WBC and IBF organisations and beat DeGale on points in their grudge match and also holds a win over DeGale in the amateurs.
