Team Bute, Team Froch. by Katie Rebekah
“No easy way out” may be the header for the Nottingham crowds this Saturday night, it could be the lyrics for the Rocky IV soundtrack, however for these two fighters Carl Froch and Lucian Bute it means a whole lot more, a lot more in the sense of winning further titles which is the IBF Super Middleweight title in the case of Froch or doing a u-turn and taking his belts back to Canada for the case of Bute.

Even though there are high stakes for Froch as he wants to become a three-time world champion
he has not fought in the UK since October 2009, it may become overwhelming for him to see so much support in his own home town, Froch said today in the final press conference that his fight with Andre Ward was very bad and he had a lot of things to prove, he said in the final press conference today, “ This is a comeback after that, that bitter disappointment that night in Atlantic City, I’ve been on the road now three years fighting  away from home and nothing’s been comfortable or easy, but  there’s a really good feel about this fight  being in Nottingham, I’ve got  a fantastic fan base, we’ve proved that the arena’s going to be sold out and the camp’s gone excellent, I feel fit and strong.”

He stayed in his positive mood and went on to say   “I’m going to put it right against Lucian Bute; it’s going to give me such a lift when all these supporters come and cheer for me.”

There is a lot of support for Bute from Canada and Romania, his trainer Stephan Larouche said, “We’ve had an excellent camp in Florida and a week in Sheffield and Bute has sparred a total 120 rounds with 7 sparring partners, it’s not easy to get ready for Carl Froch you need to get ready for a war, twelve rounds for thirty six minutes of war, Carl Froch is a true warrior he’s been there, he’s showed that  he’s got balls and will and he’s got heavy hands and a good trainer and a good crew promoter and organisation so this is the type of fight boxing needs, Lucian is ready, ready to rumble, he’s been working hard and he’s happy to be here and for those who are not sure about it I’m sure on Saturday it’s going to be a great evening, we’ll enjoy it and we’ll remember that.”

Bute was looking very smart and stylish with a smile that ran from one edge of his face to other, he said “I’m very happy to be here and very excited to be here in Nottingham and two months ago I was here for the press conference, then I left for my training camp for Florida for seven weeks, it was a good training camp and even the little technical problem I’m very happy, I work very hard for this fight, I know it’s not easy fight for me, I came here to win, I’m a winner .”

With the face off afterwards looking comfortable for Bute and casual for Froch, they looked like they had great admiration for one another and the whole sequence of events leading up to this event was with good sportsmanship on this occasion.

Carl Froch vs. Lucian Bute billed as “ No Easy Way Out for the Bute’s IBF Super Middleweight Title on 26th May 2012, at the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham UK, the card is a co-production of Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing and Jean Bedad’s Interbox Promotions and will be televised via Epix and Sky Sports.
