Granddaughter of former Mancunian favourite and the world title challenger Edward ‘Cyclone’ Kelly, Laura ‘Cyclone’ Kelly has boxing in the blood and has so far lived up to her famous granddad’s adopted nickname.
Laura, 21, had a distinguished amateur career, winning numerous national titles at various weights and was chosen to train at the GB squads and box for England. But Laura has found it a frustrating time waiting for fights and it has been over a year since she last fought, so decided it was time to turn professional and follow the dream she has always had.
Laura is trained by her dad Scott Kelly, who first took his eldest daughter on the pads when she was not far past walking age and the two have built an unbreakable bond through their passion for boxing.
On Saturday October 31st, Halloween night, horror fan Laura will finally make her professional debut on the latest Black Flash Promotions show at the Castle Leisure Centre in Bury.
Laura is delighted to announce the news and get her pro career underway. In this Laura and her dad Scott speak about turning professional, the dreams of ruling the boxing world and becoming a champion, watch her journey start on October 31st.
