Liverpool’s Rocky Fielding, 24, has been released from his contract by Frank Warren Promotions according to Dean Powell, the matchmaker for FWP. Powell confirmed the news earlier today when speaking to Chris Walker of Merseygloves.co.uk, who contacted Britishboxers.co.uk to approve the story. Fielding’s contract had expired and the parties did not agree on a new one.
Fielding won Prizefighter: The Super middleweights in March 2011, beating Patrick J. Maxwell, Joe Ainscough and Tobias Webb, who also parted company with FWP this week, en route to the win. The “Rocky From Stocky” had three more fights in 2011 – victories over Jamie Ambler, Paul Morby and Tommy Tolan respectively
Fielding, though, has had only one outing this year – a third-round retirement win over Ciaran Healey at Bowlers Exhibition Centre on May 18. The 10-0 (4) prospect will now seek to ink a new deal in order to make the most of the rest of 2012.
