Conor Benn returned to action with a six rounds points victory over Ross Jameson. Looking trim at 10st 7lbs 9oz, Benn seems to be learning to mix his natural aggressiveness with some cooler, calmly thinking and looks much the better fighter for it.
Middlesborough’s Jameson (10st 2lbs 8oz)—who was outpointed by the tough journeyman Lee Connelly a few weeks ago—is as honest and tough as they come but just couldn’t keep the 19-year-old from Ilford off during the first couple of rounds.
As the fight wore on, he gained a foothold in the fight and landed more than his fair share during the fifth and sixth rounds. Benn (6-0, 4 KO’s) eventually claimed a 60-55 decision. Jameson drops to 1-2 with no KOs.
