Scott Quigg took another step towards a featherweight world title shot by stopping Oleg Yefimovych, but there was disappointment for Jamie McDonnell.

McDonnell retained his WBA world bantamweight title on a technical draw after a clash of heads with Liborio Solis. Doncaster’s McDonnell suffered a nasty cut to his eye and the rematch with Solis was stopped in the third round in Monte Carlo.

Former British heavyweight champion Dereck Chisora suffered defeat in Monte Carlo on Saturday night losing in his latest challenge for the European heavyweight title.

The Londoner was outpointed by champion German based Agit Kabayel who was awarded the fight by scores of 115-113 and 115-114, while the third judge scored it a draw.
