Tony Bellew attended the final press conference today ahead off his cruiserweight world title challenge against undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk, a fighter Bellew says he is a fan of, but insists he can defeat the unbeaten Ukranian.
The big fight takes place this Saturday night at the Manchester Arena promoted by Matchroom boxing.
Bellew says what ever happens, win, lose or draw this will be his final fight, but the Scouser is confident he can pull off another shock victory before riding off into the Liverpool sunset.
“He is the most complete fighter I have faced and I have always been a fan of Oleksandr Usyk. “He is a fantastic champion. I have no disregard for this man, I just have to beat him up.”
Usyk is the bookies’ favourite to retain his belts on Saturday having unified the division by defeating Murat Gassiev, says he is happy to be fighting in Manchester and admits Bellew is his toughest fight to date.”I’m really inspired, I enjoy the atmosphere here in England,” he said. “Many years ago I was dreaming about visiting England. I couldn’t even imagine I would be fighting here in Manchester.
