Hall of Fame promoter Don King confirmed late on Monday that the WBA ‘regular champion’ Trevor Bryan will face Britain’s Daniel Dubois on June 11th, though a venue for the bout is yet to be confirmed at the time of writing.
Veteran promoter King secured the promotional rights for the contest in March with a bid of over $3,000,000, the bout potentially determining the next mandatory for the full WBA title at heavyweight which is currently held by unified champion Oleksandr Usyk.
Dubois would have been hoping for his promoter Frank Warren to stage the contest on British shores, but the victory for King means the fight is now likely to take place across the Atlantic, providing home advantage for America’s Bryan.
