Frank Warren told SecondsOut on Tuesday that a heavyweight clash between Joe Joyce and Joseph Parker is now being targeted for around September. The fight was originally being looked at for early July but the date has now been changed due to the pregnancy of Parker’s trainer Andy Lee‘s wife.
Both Joyce and Parker hold strong rankings with major governing bodies as both look to secure a shot at world honours in the sport’s premier division. The WBO, whose belt is currently held by Oleksandr Usyk, rank both men particularly highly (Joyce one, Parker two) and it is likely that the winner of the potential clash will be next in line to challenge for that belt.
