Sky Sports finally announced on Wednesday that the upcoming heavyweight rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Box Office on August 20th for a price of £26.95.
Several reports emerged in recent weeks tying Sky to the fight after Matchroom sold the promotional rights to Saudi Arabia, who will host the event at the Jeddah Arena. Sky’s victory comes at the downfall of DAZN who only last month announced a long-term deal with former two-time heavyweight champion Joshua, a contract which was not party to the Usyk rematch due to the aforementioned deal struck with the Saudi hosts.
Britain’s Joshua will hope to avenge a professional defeat for the second time in his career as he attempts to claw back his titles once again, against a determined Usyk who will look to send a resounding message to the world on the back of the invasion of his home country Ukraine at the hands of Putin’s Russian regime.
