Light-heavyweights Jake Barton (7-0-0, 2KOs) and Mickey Ellison (12-4-0, 4KOs) are set to clash at Liverpool’s iconic Olympia this evening for the vacant Central Area title at 175lbs. Southport’s undefeated Barton is contesting for the first major title of his career in his eighth professional outing, while Blackburn’s Ellison has previously fought for both the Central Area and English titles at super-middleweight, coming up short on both occasions.
154-pound prospect Bryan Collins (3-0-0) also faces off against Josh Morgan (6-3-1) in his home city, while cruiserweight prospect Nathan Quarless (9-0-0) is also scheduled to appear. Liverpool featherweight Charlotte Powell (1-0-0) makes her second pro ring-walk, and bantamweight Sean Cairns (8-4-0, 2KOs) returns for the first time since his fourth-round stoppage defeat to Gamal Yafai last month.
135-pounder Michael Hedges (4-0-1) will also fight in front of his home fans, as will super-middleweight prospect Dexter Makaza (3-0-0, 2KOs).
