Frank Warren and Queensberry Promotions have announced the full undercard for the upcoming show at Manchester’s AO Arena on September 24th, headlined by heavyweights Joe Joyce and Joseph Parker in their quest for a world title shot.
Tuesday saw the announcement that pound-for-pound star Amanda Serrano will unify the featherweight division versus Sarah Mahfoud as her illustrious professional career, which has seen her pickup world titles in eight respective divisions, continues in Manchester.
British welterweight champion Ekow Essuman looks to make the third successful defence of his Lord Lonsdale strap, this time stepping in against English champion Samuel Antwi. The latter overcame Conah Walker to win the English six months ago and will hope to climb another rung on the domestic ladder to be crowned the king of Britain on September 24th. Anthony Cacace makes his return to the ring after a twelve months hiatus, taking on Michael Magnesi over twelve rounds. The Italian Magnesi is undefeated in twenty-one contests, fighting primarily on Italian shores and will no doubt ask questions of the Belfast man on the night.
The card will also feature a brilliant domestic dust-up at 160-pound between the popular Nathan Heaney and Bolton’s Jack Flatley. The former is undefeated inside fifteen bouts while the latter has only lost to Harry Scarff and more recently Kerman Lejarraga for the European strap at super-welterweight, and the victor will propel themselves further towards domestic title shots in a competitive middleweight division. Featherweight Raven Chapman also takes on Jorgelina Guanini in her fourth professional outing.
Further down the card, newly-crowned British and Commonwealth super-middleweight Mark Heffron is set to appear, as are middleweight James Heneghan, super-lightweight Amaar Akbar and cruiserweight Tommy Fletcher. Opponents are still to be confirmed at the time of writing.
