140-pound contender Sandy Ryan has moved up to second place in the Ring Magazine’s super-lightweight ratings for August following her redemption arc in the rematch with Erica Farias in Sheffield last week.
Despite having only five fights as a professional, with her current record now standing at 4-1-0 (2KOs) respectively, Ryan has already announced herself at world level as the Derby fighter continues her development in search of world honours. Only America’s Kali Reis now stands above her, with Reis expected to clash with Northampton’s Chantelle Cameron (the current holder of the Ring title at 140-pounds) in a unification clash that will crown an undisputed super-lightweight champion.
Farias now stands at number three in the rankings, with Mary McGee (fourth) and Oshin Delieuw (fifth) fleshing out the remaining spots.
