The WBO have officially ordered a super-middleweight fight between Providence’s Demetrius Andrade and Derby’s Zach Parker for the second time in an eliminator for the title currently head by Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.

Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions were set to stage a contest between the pair at Derby’s Pride Park in May before the American pulled out due to a shoulder injury, with the fight appearing dead in the water ever since. Neither man has fought so far in 2022, with Andrade last running out against Jason Quigley at the back end of last year in defence of his WBO middleweight crown. Parker meanwhile disposed of Marcus Morrison inside four rounds in November as he continues to chase down a first shot at world honours.

It appears that, if the bout does indeed go ahead, Andrade will vacate his 160-pound strap and Janibek Alimkhanuly will be upgraded to full champion.
