The Europa Hotel in Belfast will play host to a vacant European title fight in the super-featherweight division on Saturday evening as local man Eric Donovan (15-2-0, 8KOs) takes on Khalil El Hadri (13-1-0, 7KOs) in the Irish capital.

Donovan has twice appeared amid big television cards in recent years with stoppage defeats to Zelfa Barrett and Robeisy Ramirez respectively but finds himself in the home corner this weekend as he bids to be crowned Europe’s number one man at super-featherweight. Barrett claimed the belt himself in June but recently vacated the strap as potential routes to world titles open up in the coming months and so Donovan faces the Frenchman El Hadri to throw himself back into big titles at 130lbs. El Hadri meanwhile has primarily fought out of his home country of France but will look to upset the odds in the lion’s den this weekend to setup more big nights of his own.

The undercard also sees the return of cruiserweight Tommy McCarthy (19-4-0, 10KOs) in his second fight back since defeat to Chris Billam-Smith in Manchester five months ago, this time taking on Reinis Porozovs (20-18-1, 13KOs) across eight rounds. Super-welterweight Owen Duffy (5-2-0, 2KOs) runs out for his eight professional outing against Dominic Donegan (5-3-1, 1KO) in an eight-round encounter, while Owen O’Neill (8-0-0) takes on Marek Laskowski (9-14-2, 1KO) at welterweight. Conor Quinn (2-0-0, 2KOs) looks to continue his one-hundred-per-cent knockout record this weekend against Darwin Martinez (7-3-1, 6KOs) at super-flyweight.
