Matchroom Boxing and DAZN officially announced on Saturday that night IBF featherweight champion Josh Warrington (31-1-1, 8KOs) will make the first defence of his second reign in his home city of Leeds on December 10th against Mexico’s Luis Alberto Lopez (26-2-0, 15KOs).
Warrington tore the title from Spain’s Kiko Martinez in March to regain his world champion status but will have his hands full against an erratic but effective Lopez who already has one British scalp to his name following a seventh-round stoppage of Isaac Lowe at the end of 2021.
Leeds’ First Direct Arena will host the contest, with undercard details set to be announced in the forthcoming weeks.
