British heavyweight Daniel Dubois is set to take on South Africa’s Kevin Lerena on either November 26th or December according to ESPN’s Mike Coppinger.

Dubois, who defeated Trevor Bryant inside four rounds in Florida last time out, finds himself in a healthy position with the WBA as a potential shot at world honours looks likely for 2023. Lucas Browne was originally mooted as an opponent before the British Boxing Board of Control refused to sanction the bout, citing Browne’s age as the reason behind the decision, and so the thirty-year-old Lerena appears next in line.

The South African boasts twenty-nine professional contests to date, with only one ending in defeat back in 2014, and has shared a ring with gatekeepers Bogdan Dinu and Mariusz Wach in his last two fights. Lerena previously operated as a cruiserweight where he picked up the lesser IBO title.
