Matchroom Boxing have added two new contests to their upcoming show at the Wembley Arena on October 29th, including a vacant Central Area light-heavyweight title fight between Mickey Ellison and Thomas Whittaker-Hart.
Ellison picked up the vacant title in July with a sixth-round stoppage victory over Jake Barton and will now make his first defence against the unbeaten Liverpudlian Whittaker-Hart. The latter has won all seven of his professional contests so far but suffered a two-year hiatus from the sport after coming down with pneumonia and meningitis.
The twenty-seven-year-old returned with two quick victories in March and April of this year, and hopes to make it hat-trick of victories in 2022 as he fights for his first major title as a professional.
Ireland’s Gary Cully will also fight for the first time since putting pen to paper with Matchroom earlier this year, taking on the undefeated Jaouad Belmehdi of France in a ten-round lightweight clash.
Katie Taylor headlines the show in defence of her undisputed lightweight crown versus Argentina’s Karen Carabajal, while Jordan Gill defends his European featherweight title against former world champion Kiko Martinez.
