Adam Azim continued to cement his status as one of the sport’s top prospects with a two-round demolition of Rylan Charlton on Sunday.

The 20-year-old timed Charlton with a sharp right-hand in the opening 20 seconds of the fight before flooring the Norfolk man with the same shot at 2:40.

A second knockdown in the final seconds from a left uppercut made it a torrid opening three minutes for Charlton who was left stunned by the power of Azim as he returned to his corner.

The 30-year-old was put out of his misery by referee Chas Coakley when another big right-hand scored a third knockdown for Azim 40 seconds into the round.

In a fight that was tipped as a test for Azim, the super-lightweight scored his sixth consecutive stoppage victory in his fifth fight of 2022.

The Slough man is tipped to surge towards titles in 2023.

Mikael Lawal picked up the vacant British cruiserweight title after Scotland’s David Jamieson was forced to retire from a jaw injury in-between the eighth and ninth rounds.

The fight up to that point was a nip-and-tuck affair with both men enjoying success throughout the eight rounds.

Lawal produced the more eye-catching work on the night although Jamieson’s output made for a competitive showing.

Blood began to pour from the Scot’s mouth after the eighth round and his corner team informed referee Michael Alexander the 30-year-old was unable to continue.

Lawal has now claimed his first major title as a professional and moved to 17-0-0(11KOs).

Sam Gilley comfortably outpointed Sean Robinson to make the second defence of his English super-welterweight title.

Gilley dominated much of the affair, dropping Robinson with a huge straight right-hand in the opening thirty seconds of the sixth round on the way to a unanimous decision victory after ten rounds.

The three judges ringside adjudged the bout 98-92 (twice) and 97-93 in favour of the 28-year-old who adds his name to a lengthy list of domestic talent at 154lbs.

Welterweight Hassan Azim won all six rounds versus Nestor Amukoto while Michael Hennessy Jr forced a fourth-round stoppage of James McCarthy at super-welterweight.

Shannon Ryan secured a 60-54 victory over Ivanka Ivanova after six rounds at super-flyweight and Jeamie Tshikeva blasted through Joel Ducille inside a round at heavyweight.

George Mitchell secured his fifth victory in as many outings with a 40-36 victory over Greg O’Neill at middleweight while Jimmy Lee edged past Jahfieus Faure at super-featherweight over four rounds.
