BOXXER‘s Ben Shalom told ID Boxing that terms have now been agreed between Chris Eubank Jnr and Liam Smith for an early 2023 showdown.
Speaking in Manchester ahead of Natasha Jonas‘ unification fight versus Marie Eve Dicaire this weekend, Shalom confirmed only the final details are left to be ironed out for Smith to take on Eubank Jnr next year.
“It’s just about the date now”, confirmed Shalom. “I’m speaking to Kalle regularly, everything’s agreed. We’ll hopefully announce next week.”
Eubank Jnr was set to face Conor Benn in October before the latter flagged for a banned substance in a VADA test.
Smith meanwhile last featured in September when he halted Hassan Mwakinyo in his home city of Liverpool and has long spoken of his desire to face Eubank in a professional ring.
