Chris Eubank Jr has confirmed that he has now activated the rematch clause for a second fight with Liam Smith.
Eubank Jr confirmed the news via social media on Tuesday.
“This morning I activated the rematch clause via my lawyers & sent to my promoters Wasserman Boxing”, Eubank wrote before ending with the line, “Happy Valentine’s Day Liam Smith.”
Smith raised eyebrows with a resounding fourth-round stoppage of Eubank Jr in Manchester last month.
The pair embraced post-fight after a hostile build-up to the fight with both men open to a second fight later in the year.
The home of Smith’s beloved Liverpool FC, Anfield Stadium, had been touted as a potential location for the second fight.
