BOXXER have confirmed the two latest additions for the Liam Smith–Chris Eubank Jnr rematch undercard.
Unified super-welterweight champion Natasha Jonas is set to feature at Manchester’s AO Arena on June 17th, alongside British super-middleweight champion Mark Heffron who takes on Zak Chelli.
Jonas won the British Boxing Board of Control Fighter of the Year for 2022 after she claimed three of the four major belts at 154lbs.
Starting with a two-round demolition of Christian Namus in February, Jonas went on to outpoint Patricia Berghult and Marie Eve Dicaire in September and November.
A rumoured showdown with pound-for-pound star Claressa Shields looks to be off the table for the moment after Jonas rejected an offer sent by the American, so the Liverpudlian looks to defend her titles in her first showing of 2023.
An opponent is yet to be confirmed.
Jonas’ stablemate Mark Heffron has also been added to the card as he hopes to make the first defence of his British and Commonwealth titles at 168lbs versus Zak Chelli.
Heffron stopped Lennox Clarke inside five rounds to pickup the belts in July last year before scoring a first-round knockout in a non-title bout in September.
Chelli also enjoyed a successful 2022, defeating Germaine Brown to claim the English title before dominating Anthony Sims Jr at the start of this year over ten rounds.
The fights now stand alongside the anticipated rematch between Smith and Eubank Jr in the main event.
Smith halted the Brighton man inside four rounds in January before Eubank Jr activated a rematch clause the following month.
Franchon Crews-Dezurn also looks to defend her undisputed super-middleweight titles against Savannah Marshall in the chief support.
