Maidstone super-bantamweight Dennis McCann will face the toughest test of his career so far against Ionut Baluta on August 18th.
The Queensberry Promotions card will take place at Bethnal Green’s York Hall, live on TNT Sports.
McCann claimed the vacant Commonwealth title with an eighth-round stoppage of Joe Ham in November to move to 14-0(8KOs).
The victory was also the 22 year old’s third stoppage in his last five fights but steps up against Romania’s Baluta who has already proved his prowess amongst the Queensberry stable.
After upsetting Brad Foster in May, Baluta lost over twelve entertaining rounds to Liam Davies before responding with an impressive spit-decision win against Andrew Cain three months ago.
Despite having four losses on his record, Baluta has never been stopped as a pro and looks to claim another British scalp against McCann in August.
The Brit responded to the announcement earlier today, writing on Twitter: “You asking for a fight now you got one The menace Returns Headlining my first of many shows.
“Time to Take him out this is not going the distance.”
