Irish lightweight Gary Cully has confirmed he will now be trained by Joe McNally out of the historic Rotunda ABC in Liverpool.
The 27 year old released a statement via social media earlier today as he moves on from old trainer Pete Taylor.
“Excited to announce that I’ve decided to relocate my training to Liverpool and work under @jmcboxing @decorourke and the lads at @rotundaabc moving forward in my career”, he said.
“I came and met Joe in the gym a couple weeks back and instantly felt a click with both Joe and Dec & all the boys in the gym.
“They took me in like one of their own, and the boxing experience knocking about the gym is second to none. Liverpool is a city that I’ve been visiting since I’ve been a young kid and one that is close to my heart so there’s a good vibe surrounding this one.”
Cully suffered the first defeat of his career in front of a packed home crowd in Dublin two months ago.
Despite entering the bout as favourite, the Irishman was floored twice and eventually stopped in the third by Jose Felix after his corner threw in the towel.
He now joins a healthy stable alongside the likes of Liam Smith, Josh Taylor and JJ Metcalf as he looks to rebound from the defeat and return to winning ways.
