Nearly three months on from his narrow split-decision defeat to Tyler Denny, Manchester’s Macauley McGowan (17-4-2, 3KOs) returns to a professional ring in his home city.

The 28 year old faces Dale Arrowsmith (5-86-3, 1KO) over six middleweight rounds at ‘The Fuse’ on Sunday.

McGowan, alongside trainer Joe Gallagher, have expressed their dismay at the Denny result which came just two months after the Mancunian was only afforded a majority draw in Paris.

After a tough year so far inside the ring, the Briton is eager to return to winning ways before landing more big fights down the stretch.

The card also sees St Helens featherweight Adam Carberry (5-0, 2KOs) take on Sean Jackson (0-13-1) over four.

Carberry already has one victory to his name in 2023 and looks to add another this weekend against Wythenshawe’s rugged Jackson who is yet to be stopped in his 14 pro outings.

York middleweight Nathan Shepherd (2-0) also features versus Morecambe’s Sean Coxon (0-2) over four, while Oldham-based cruiserweight Tyson Aloama (2-0, 1KO) faces Liverpool’s Bradley Davies (1-4-1, 1KO) over the same distance.

Manchester super-middleweight Joe O’Sullivan (1-0) also faces-off against Lithuania’s Genadij Krajevskij (0-56) over four rounds, and Bolton middleweight Sahir Iqbal (9-1, 1KO) takes on local man Josh Cook (1-29-2).
