Dillian Whyte has now reportedly signed his contract for a rematch with Anthony Joshua on August 12th, according to Sky Sports.

The fight is being eyed to take place on UK soil, eight years on from their initial encounter which saw Joshua stop Whyte in seven rounds for the British heavyweight title.

Reports emerged earlier this week that negotiations had passed a significant hurdle after Team Joshua removed a contracted rematch clause from their offer.

With plans in place for Joshua to face Deontay Wilder at the end of the year, Whyte felt he deserved such a fight in the event that he emerged victorious over his old rival.

The pair have engaged in several verbal spats since their first fight but a rematch has up to this point failed to develop.

Joshua must now sign his side of the contract if the bout is to take place on the scheduled August 12th date in London.
