KHAN STILL PLAYING THE WAITING GAME!

Manny Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum has stated he hopes his boxer doesn’t choose Amir Khan has his final opponent. Pacquiao is expected to confirm his intended last opponent of his illustrious career by this Friday for the fight on on April 9, and then retire.

Pacquiao, 36, who had suffered a shoulder injury prior to his fight with Floyd Maywether is now recovered after surgery on it and want to have one last farewell fight.

The opponents that are apparently in the running to be the Fillipino’s foe are American’s Terence Crawford, Timothy Bradley and Britain’s Amir Khan, but Arum has rejected Khan and will advise his fighter against him, but concluded it was Pacquiao’s final decision.

It will be bitter news for Khan if Pacquiao chooses against facing him, he has put himself forward for the fight and waited patiently believing he would get Manny’s call. Khan had also played the waiting game in trying to lure Mayweather into fighting him and that fell through. It would be a frustrating situation for the Bolton former world champion and he would have to seek alternative routes if a super fight he craves eludes him again and Arum has his way.

“Would I prefer it not to be Khan? Yes.” said Arum.

“But this is Manny’s last fight. I have a duty to him to present him all of the options.

“Do I hope he doesn’t pick Khan though? Of course. I don’t think he will pick Khan.

“Khan was an option when we considered having this fight in April in the Middle East, so he was a guy on the table. Now the Middle East is not on the table, but he’s still one of the guys on the table,” added Arum.
