David Dolan and Rob Norton fought to a draw in there rematch, in a 12 round points decision.
The judges scores were – 115 114 Dolan 116 -113 Norton 114 -114 Draw at Altrincham, Sky Sports first televised show of 2010.
The fight for Norton’s British and Commonwealth cruiserweight titles, was at times messy, and it looked like Sunderland man Dolan, changing from his usual style to a walk forward, all or nothing tactic and at times ignoring Norton’s work to get his own shots home, had done enough to claim the titles.
Norton did catch Dolan coming in with good punches and speaking to Sky Sports after the fight said, “The rounds could have gone either way, but when you fight for a title you’ve got to rip the title from the champion.”
