Kofi ‘Casper’ Yates and Macaulay McGowen speak to www.britishboxers.co.uk about their boxing plans and how they see this weekends big fight going when Carl Froch defends his WBA and IBF super-middleweight titles against London rival George Groves at the Manchester Arena.
Yates, 21, and McGowen, 19, were both star amateurs for Jimmy Egans boxing club in Wythenshawe and are now both training with Anthony ‘Arnie’ Farnell.
McGowen won the Junior ABA Championship in 2010, was a GB Bronze Medallist the same year 2010, Junior ABA silver medallist 2011, GB Silver Medallist and was an England representative. He now has plans in place to turn professional and will soon be travelling over to Macklin’s Gym in Marbella to gain some experience away from home.
Exciting Yates is now 4-0 as a professional and this all action pressure fighter is tipped to be knocking on the door for domestic titles in the next couple of years.
