With the news that Matthew Macklin today retired from fighting after a 15 year pro career, good luck messages came flooding in on Twitter and other social media sites for the former British, Irish, European champion and three time world title challenger.
Macklin had a distinguished career and will be remembered as a true warrior of British boxing, who always gave everything. He retires from boxing with a record of 35 wins, 22 by KO and just 6 defeats. He won his last fight in April against Brian Rose. We look back at Macklin’s career here…
