Ahead of his first promotion of the new boxing season, former Amir Khan manager Asif Vali has issued a rallying call to any potential ‘Rockys’ out there.

Vali teams up with promoter Dennis Hobson on October 1 to bring an evening of boxing to The Point, at the Emirates Old Trafford (Lancashire County Cricket Club). And ahead of the ‘Zak Vali Annual Evening of Professional Boxing’, Asif is urging fighters who want to turn professional, or any current pros who are looking to fight regularly, to get in contact with him for what could be a dream partnership.

“The message is simple,” explained Bolton’s Asif. “If you love boxing and you’ve got the same passion and drive as myself, then I’d love to manage you. If we team up together then you’ll be on a great journey. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done in the amateur game, if you want to fight professional then give me a call, and let’s see what we can do together. Or, if there are any pros who aren’t getting enough fights and are looking to get more active, please do get in touch.”

One exciting prospect who fights under the guidance of Vali and who will be appearing on the Emirates Old Trafford bill is Bolton’s Osman Aslam. The 22-year-old bantamweight is currently 6-0 and has been touted by boxing insiders as a young fighter to watch. With his apprenticeship coming to an end, Asif is convinced ‘Iron Man’ Osman is a future champion and says he will shine as the tests get harder.

“Osman will be moving up to six rounds on this upcoming show. He’s still young but is undefeated and has looked very mature for his age. He’s a top prospect, a really exciting young boxer, and extremely talented. Osman is very quick, has a lovely style and he will really come into his own as he starts to move up the rounds and his opponents get tougher. I’m very excited about his future and am sure he’s a future star.”

Asif Vali, in partnership with Dennis Hobson present the ‘Zak Vali Annual Evening of Professional Boxing’ on October 1 at The Point, Emirates Old Trafford (Lancashire County Cricket Club). Appearing on the show will be Bolton’s Osman Aslam; Manchester’s Adam Hague, Darryl Sharp and Matthew Mainwaring; Ireland’s Con Sheehan, and Leeds’ Nasser Baz.
