Carl Frampton’s rematch with Leo Santa Cruz is heading to Las Vegas, according to the Las Vegas Review Journal and other media outlets. Frampton Tweeted that the rematch had been agreed on Thursday morning, with the bout set to land in “Sin City” on January 21 or 28.
The MGM Grand has been booked for those two dates, clearing the way for the rematch between Frampton (23-0, 14 KOs) and Cruz (32-1-1, 18 early). Frampton will defend the WBA featherweight belt that he took by a close, but clear, decision win in New York on July 30.
Mikey Garcia is set to co-feature, he will challenge WBC lightweight titlist Dejan Zlaticanin in the co-main event.
