Rocky Fielding (23-1, 13KOs) will take on the tough John Ryder (24-3, 12KOs) in an intriguing domestic clash at the Echo Arena on 22nd April.
Ryder, 28 is moving up to the super middleweight division after campaigning in the 160 pound division for the last few years to face Scouser Rocky.
Fielding, 29, is eyeing world title opportunities but knows he can’t underestimate his tough and awkward opponent, who is in good form and is coming off a decent win over Adam Etches (20-2, 17KO) on the recent Chris Eubank Jr undercard.
We caught up with Rocky after a session at Oliver’s Gym where he trains under the watchful eye of Oliver Harrison, a former professional fighter himself and who gives his opinion on the only way his fighter can lose this fight with Ryder.
This domestic clash has all the ingredients for a bruising encounter and is one we are looking forward to. Here is what Rocky had to say when speaking to British Boxers this week. Interview by Aky Karim.
