In just under six weeks Zelfa ‘Brown Flash’ Barrett makes his debut as a Matchroom fighter when he takes on undefeated Irishman Eric Donovan.

Taking place on the third week of the much-anticipated Fight Camp schedule, Barrett is promising ‘fireworks’ in the clash, which promoter Eddie Hearn earmarked for as one of the best fights of the scintillating August schedule.
Manchester’s Barrett emphasised to BBTV, that the fans should ‘expect something special’ as he prepares to showcase his skills next month.
Looking ahead to the fight, he stated: “He is going to be 35 in July, I know that because I watch my opponent and I study them, so time is not on his side and he is going to have to come out and try and make a statement, all guns blazing to take my head off, that’s what we are expecting – nothing less.
“It’s a fight it doesn’t matter where it is, once you’ve got them eight-ounce gloves on it’s a fight.
“I put on a good performance against (Leon) Woodstock and Jordan McCorry, I’m the right age at the right time, there’s more to come, different opponents, different styles.
“When it rains you put on a coat and when it’s hot you put a tee-shirt on – it’s the same in boxing, different opponents you approach differently.”
On whether he is eyeing a stoppage, Barrett revealed: “First of all it’s about me getting the win, that’s all that matters. I believe in my ability, my camp, what we are doing and how I will perform. I’m ready, I’m excited. Expect fireworks from me, expect something a little bit special.”
