Manager of former heavyweight champion of the world Joseph Parker teased a second run-in with British heavyweight Dillian Whyte in an interview with Sky Sports on Thursday, stating that Parker ‘there’s no better time’ for the rematch to take place.
Whyte emerged victorious in the first fight back in 2018 in an enthralling encounter at the O2 Arena in London which saw both men pick themselves up off the canvas. Whyte has since lost a WBC world title shot to pound-for-pound king Tyson Fury, while Parker twice beat Whyte’s former rival Dereck Chisora and has been recently linked with a big dust-up with another British heavyweight in Joe Joyce.
The likes of Whyte, Parker and Joyce find themselves among a chasing pack of top ten heavyweights looking to place themselves next in line for a shot at the heavyweight titles as they wait for the result of the upcoming Oleksandr Usyk–Anthony Joshua rematch, while also keeping an eye on whether the aforementioned Fury will return after announcing his retirement last month.
