Shakur Stevenson had a few choice words for British super-featherweight contender Archie Sharp following Joe Cordina‘s world title triumph over Kenichi Ogawa on Saturday night.
The American Stevenson, who currently holds the WBO and WBC straps at 130lbs, initially congratulated the Welshman Cordina following his second-round knockout of the Tokyo man, tweeting “Told y’all he the best fighter @ 130 from England…I would love to come to England for some smoke tho champ congrats @JoeCordina_91“.
The twenty-four-year-old didn’t keep the same tone for Sharp however, directly mentioning the Brit on Twitter with the words “Yo s*** bag @archiesharp95 did u watch that fight u not even number one in yo own country“. Sharp currently holds the number one spot in the WBO’s super-featherweight rankings and could soon become mandatory challenger for Stevenson, who comfortably outpointed former champion Oscar Valdez in April.
