ESPN’s Mike Coppinger has reported that a clash between light-heavyweight ruler Artur Beterbiev and Britain’s Anthony Yarde has been pushed back to next year following an injury sustained by the Russian.

The pair were rumoured to face-off at London’s O2 Arena in October following Beterbiev’s two-round demolition of Joe Smith Jr. in June which maintained his one-hundred-per-cent knockout record, a fight for which Yarde was ringside as he continued to chase down a shot at the division’s number one man. Beterbiev’s next mandatory for the WBC will become clear after this weekend when Callum Smith and Mathieu Bauderlique come together in a final eliminator clash out in Saudi Arabia.
