Ireland’s Eric Donovan became European super-featherweight champion on Saturday night with a unanimous decision victory over France’s Khalil El Hadri.

The thirty-seven-year-old entered the evening with two professional defeats to his name but was dominant in front of his home fans as he picked up the vacant European strap at 130lbs, a title previously picked up by Zelfa Barrett before he vacated it in recent weeks. Donovan has now won the second major title of his professional career so far which now spans eighteen contests (16-2-0).

Cruiserweight Tommy McCarthy also appeared on the show in Belfast, comfortably outpointing Reinis Porozovs in an eight-round contest at the end of which he was announced a 78-74 winner. Super-welterweight prospect Owen Duffy knocked out Dominic Donegan in his eighth contest, scoring his third win inside the distance in the process. 147-pounder Owen O’Neill dominated Marek Laskowski in a six-round bout, while Conor Quinn could only manage a draw versus Darwin Martinez at super-bantamweight.
